EXTINCT GREAT AUK TAXIDERMY MOUNT!

Description

Ok, so this isn't a genuine great auk mount. But it is about as close as you will get without spending 0,000 or more, if you could even talk one of the current owners into selling one. And there are only about 87 existing!
This mount was created from an old penguin taxidermy mount that had seen better days. The display is backed by an original painting to replicate a period piece. The case is custom made from old quartersawn oak wood. Glass has been removed for pics.
Every detail has been considered, including a replica egg, featuring the distinctive wild patterns that made them highly collectible in the 19th century, and partly led to their demise.
Whole piece is about 27" tall x 14"x14".
I have never seen a reconstruction like this outside of a museum.
I won't ship outside of the US, due to the penguin parts. It is not an endangered species (Adelie). I just don't want to deal with it.
